Apple to announce tablet in January, start shipping few months after

Apple Insider claims that later this month Apple will unveil their tablet. They mention that Apple has been experimenting with 2 different material finishes. The screen should be between 10= to 11-inches and should be on sale in March. Analysts expect Apple to charge below the $1000 price point at which the current macbook’s reside.

Apple has supposedly reserved the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for the January 26/27th Event.

Ipod Touch delayed?

AppleInsider reports that sources claim the latest Ipod line may be delayed due to technical difficulties.

“A person with a strong track record in predicting Apple’s upcoming product launches recently told AppleInsider that the iPod maker has experienced technical problems (bad parts) with the cameras modules. The person said that it was uncertain whether the new hardware, which has been widely expected to debut at Wednesday’s “Only rock and roll” media-centric event, would make the cut for early September retail distribution.”

For a while now we have been seing reports of 3rd party cases with holes cut out which would allow use of the integrated camera. Hopefully the delay won’t be huge. Seems like Apple would be able to add cameras to the Ipod Touch relatively easily since it has done the same for the Iphone.

More 3rd Gen Ipod Touch Cases emerge at IFA

Engaget reports that Hama’s booth at IFA in Germany displayed more 3rd Gen Ipod Touch and 5th Gen Ipod Nano cases. With the holes for the rumored cameras.

It will be interesting to see what else the Ipod’s will get at the September 9th Media Event.

Apple sends out invitations for September 9th Media Event

Crunchgear reports that Apple is definitely planning their Media Event for September 9th. Rumors have it they will update their Ipod Touch line with cameras, perhaps their Nano’s as well?

The Event is schedule to take place at 10:00 AM Pacific Time at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
