Rumors have been getting pretty strong lately that Apple would release a Tablet type device. Engaget is reporting that Apple has reserved the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco. The invitations claim “Come see our latest creation.” Some say that they are hinting towards their highly anticipated, perhaps 10″ Tablet/Slate.

Bloomberg speculates that the next iPhone will be released as early as June of this year. Most likely it will include a more advanced camera. According to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. analyst Robert Chen it may even include a touch sensitive case/shell.
Google announced their own Android 2.1 phone today. The Nexus one which features Qualcomm’s 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 800×480 screen and 5 MP camera (with Flash). It is priced at $529 as an unlocked phone, or $179 with a two-year T-Mobile contract.

Apple Insider claims that later this month Apple will unveil their tablet. They mention that Apple has been experimenting with 2 different material finishes. The screen should be between 10= to 11-inches and should be on sale in March. Analysts expect Apple to charge below the $1000 price point at which the current macbook’s reside.
Apple has supposedly reserved the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for the January 26/27th Event.

Toshiba accounced their launch of 64 GB NAND flash modules. This would allow an iPod Touch to house up to 128GB of memory. Look for a 128 GB iPod Touch in 2010. Toshiba said mass production starts in Q1 2010.
After hearing increased rumors about Google releasing their own Android handset, it appears that they will be doing so next month.
Apparently Google has begun testing this device with it’s employees. It features a Snapdragon chip which is based on the same generation of chips as the ARM processor in the iPhone 3GS. Yet the Snapdragon could be running at a higher clock speed. The phone is a GSM based unit, which should be able to get sold by retail stores and run on AT&T or Tmobile.


Apple has started their Black Friday Sales in Australia and New Zealand. It shows approximate discounts as follows:
Perhaps not as good of a deal as one could hope for. An opportunity to save a few bucks if your already going to buy one anyways.
According to the DigiTimes Apple upped it’s order for CMOS chips from Foxconn 17-20%. The CMOS chips are used as the sensor for the iPhones camera.

Netbook sales are also likely to increase this holiday season, most of which also contain a small camera, further limiting supply even more.
Historically everytime Microsoft releases a new OS Apple also sees an increase in sales. Rumors are that Apple will launch an advertising campaign that makes fun of the windows 7 “upgrade”/reformatting procedure.
